GigMeter is a personal tracker for gig work. This page covers the iPhone app and getgigmeter.com.

Work data stays on your device. Sessions, earnings, expenses, platforms, categories, vehicles, and settings are stored on your iPhone. GigMeter does not run its own server for that data. There is no GigMeter account to create.

iCloud (optional). If you are signed in to iCloud on the device, that work data can sync through your private iCloud database so it follows you to another iPhone or iPad on the same Apple ID. Turn iCloud off in iOS Settings and everything stays on that phone. We cannot see your iCloud records.

Location. Location is used only while you are clocked in and not paused, and only to estimate distance. Coordinates and routes are not saved, not synced to iCloud, and not sent anywhere. Each session stores a mileage total, not a map. Tracking can continue if you switch to another app during a shift (iOS shows a location indicator). Pause or clock out and location updates stop.

If you decline location, you can still clock in. Time and earnings still work. Distance will not count until you allow While Using the App in iOS Settings → GigMeter → Location. You can turn location off there at any time.

Mileage and money. Mileage is a distance figure for your records. It is not treated as a tax deduction. If you turn on Auto Gas Mileage Tracking, GigMeter may estimate fuel from miles, your vehicle’s MPG, and the gas price you entered, and save that as a normal gas expense that comes off net. That estimate is optional. You can edit or delete it.

GigMeter Pro. Clock In and saving a new earning or expense require GigMeter Pro. Reports and Settings stay usable without it. Subscriptions, trials, and billing are handled by Apple. Monthly and yearly plans each include a 14-day App Store introductory offer. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat does not receive your sessions, earnings, expenses, or location. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings.

Support and feedback. If you use Support in the app or Got feedback? on the rating prompt, that opens UserJot (https://gigmeter.userjot.com/). Anything you submit there is handled by UserJot and is not stored in GigMeter as work data.

The website. getgigmeter.com is the product site. If you previously joined a waitlist or mailing list there, we collected only the email you submitted (through EmailOctopus) so we could contact you about GigMeter. We do not sell or share those addresses. To be removed, email us from the address you used to sign up, or use Support.

Exports. CSV and PDF reports are created on your device. If you share them, that is under your control.

Notifications. The clock-out reminder is a local notification on your phone. It is not push from a server. You can turn it off in the app or in iOS Settings.

What we do not do. We do not sell your data. We do not build a map of where you drive. We do not import payouts from gig platforms.

Your choices. You can turn off location, iCloud, notifications, and the subscription in iOS Settings. Deleting the app removes data that is only on that device. iCloud copies remain until you delete them through iCloud. Export anything you need to keep.

Contact. Questions about this page: use Support in the app or https://gigmeter.userjot.com/.
