Does Uber or DoorDash Track Mileage for You?

What gig platforms usually show, what they leave out, and why GigMeter does not sync with Uber or DoorDash.

Uber, DoorDash, Instacart, and similar apps track enough to pay you and to run their maps. They are not a complete mileage and income book for every gig you ran that day.

GigMeter does not sync with those platforms. You clock in once and type payouts yourself. Download on the App Store.

What the gig apps usually give you

Trip or delivery lists, sometimes with distance for that job. Weekly summaries. Tax documents at year end for that company. Instant Pay already net of their fee.

They leave out the other apps you opened in the same hour, unpaid miles between platforms, parking, and whether the block was worth the time. “Online” time in a driver app is not the same as hours you consider work.

There is no import switch

GigMeter does not connect to Uber, DoorDash, or anyone else. No API pull, no screenshot reader, no email forward. That is a product limit, not a hidden setting. If a tool promises a live sync, read what it actually pulls and what you still type.

What you get instead is one session across platforms you choose (Uber, DoorDash, Instacart, Lyft, Amazon Flex, Spark, Grubhub, Shipt, Roadie, Field Agent, and names you add). Miles for that clock. Net after expenses you entered or estimated.

Using both

Keep the gig app open for the work. Keep GigMeter clocked in for the record. Pause GigMeter if you run a personal errand. At night, copy the payouts you care about. Weekly, check GigMeter’s by-platform report against what each company says you earned.

More on that workflow: tracking income across gig apps.
